How to help needy children on the North Fork this Christmas

Armin Hanisch

The Peconic Bay Chapter of The Embroiderers’ Guild of America is collecting new, warm pajamas for children up to age 14. Last year the Guild donated 500 pairs of pajamas for needy children. This year they are expecting increased need and they hope to serve every single child who can use help.

Pajamas or checks for the pajama project made out to Peconic Bay Chapter EGA are appreciated and can be mailed to Ann Cummings, P.O. Box 137, Cutchogue, NY 11935. All donations will be used to purchase pajamas for the children. Starbucks will host a pajama party for the children who benefit.

A coat drive is being sponsored by the Mattituck-Cutchogue Cub Scout Pack 39 from now through mid-December. They are seeking clean, gently used men's, women's, and children's winter coats and jackets, hats, scarves, and gloves for distribution to local charities.

Collection boxes will be located in both Mattituck and Cutchogue Capital One Bank branches, Suffolk County National Bank, and Bridgehampton National Bank branches, Mattituck and Cutchogue Libraries and Post Offices, and Cutchogue East Elementary School.

Gently used bicycles are being collected by CAST, and will be refurbished by Country Time Cycle in Mattituck, to be distributed to needy individuals at Christmas. Please drop bicycles off to Country Time Cycle located on the Main Road in Matittuck, NY -298-8700. ??
