Print making sounds fancy and hard but it is actually really cool and very tangible for kids to do. This project is recommended for 4 years old and up, but younger kids can do it with adult help.
Eye Can Art has several pre-made kits for printmaking, wax drawing, Japanese-style Sumi-e painting, and bookmaking.
My girls (ages 4 and 2.5 years old) and I had a blast making a variety of prints from faces to horses with the award-winning printmaking kit. My 4 year old did a good job of cutting out shapes and pasting them together. Just when she thought that was awesome, I told her that was only the first half and got out the inks and roller. That blew her mind. She enjoyed every second of this craft and kit.
