How to have a summer of confidence

Its summertime; time for minimal clothing, time for fun beach photos and time to look your absolute best. However, summer can also be stressful; not all of us are confident enough for minimal clothing and beach pictures. Here are some tips to give you confidence to be fashionable for summer attire and brave enough to pull out that camera and photograph your beach adventures.

Be confident with who you are and your summer photographs will show your glow.

Find clothes that fit. Even the smallest person can look “pudgy” when wearing clothes that are too tight. But at the same time, too baggy or lose can simply look sloppy. Length of shorts does the same thing; too short and too tight is too much. Simply find clothes that fit.

Unfortunately, only a lucky few can get away with white pants/shorts; white bottoms show all. And although black gives the appearance of a slimmer figure, it doesn’t need to be the only color you wear if you’re body conscious.

It’s summer! Be bright, be bold! Try blues, greens, pinks and colors that bring out your eyes. Be careful with red and orange if you plan on getting sun; unless you want to look more red than you may already be. For tops, colors that bring out your tan are yellow and white, but don’t forget brown and black; they show off a dark tan nicely.

Boost your confidence by taking care of yourself. Drinking plenty of water, getting enough sleep, taking care of your skin and doing things you enjoy will help you feel better about yourself. Be careful not to overwork yourself; even if its work you enjoy. Everyone needs a day off. Listen to positive music, have fun in the sun and laugh (check out some music and sun ideas at the end of this article).

Although it’s great to sleep in during summer, don’t sleep your summer away; get up and do something! Be confident with who you are and your summer photographs will show your glow. Be fashionable without breaking your budget; be comfortable and be yourself. This summer let go, and let your true self glow.

Nice article, Sarah! I am one who definitely overbooks myself during the summer months. Summer school, work, internship=no time for play. Hopefully I'll find some time for fun this summer. I hope to make it to Cedar Point at some point, that place is awesome. Fashionably speaking-I've found that summer is the perfect time for dresses. I love whipping a dress and cardigan on before going out. It's easy and fun

Love the positive message of this article. Summer is a time to relax, refocus, and find intimacy with God! If you over book, you can still have fun. Have a spontaneous dance party in your car! Even if you are the only one! Bottom line is life is what you make it. So why not make it fun? Just sayin.

Enjoyed the article Sarah. A good reminder to take full advantage of summer - no matter your size or budget! BTW I've really enjoyed watching the thunderstorms lately.
