How to have a bluesy New Year's Eve 2013 in and around Atlanta

It's New Year's Eve, you're ready to party and you're looking for a good place to party with some fine blues music. Well, I'm here to help you find that party!

You can start out early at Underground Atlanta. Even if you're not going to brave the later crowds for the Peach Drop, you can catch the Truett Lollis Trio at 3 pm and Nine Times Blues at 4 pm at Kenny's Alley. Then, since you've already got a parking spot, stick around for the rest of the entertainment or avoid the nightmare of trying to get home and head out to one of these clubs for their New Year's festivities:

Blind Willie's is having a party with Francine Reed and Sandra Hall. $50 gets you guranteed seating, champagne and party favors. Doors open at 7 pm and you can get advance tickets at this link.

Darwin's in Marietta is also having a party: a Lyin' Mayans New Years Eve party. For just $10, you get Beau Hall and Truitt Lollis, gourmet party tray with meats, cheeses and desserts, party favors, and a midnight champagne toast!

Mudcat will be hosting and entertaining New Year's Eve at Northside Tavern, as he has every year since 1994! As far as I know, the cover charge is the regular $10. If anyone knows otherwise, please post that information in the comments.

I'm not sure if they have planned extra party activities at Fat Matt's, but they won't need them because Beverly "Guitar" Watkins is playing and that makes every event a party!

That's the specific blues parties I know about. If you know of more, please add them in the comments and at the Keep the Blues Alive page on Facebook!
