How to get your flirt on successfully

Do you know how to flirt? Many people don’t. There is an art and skill to flirting that escapes many of us. And why should we know how to flirt? There’s no Flirting 101 class that one can take as a teenager that will serve you throughout your life such as verb conjugation or division has. Until now that is.

New York City Dating Coach Tracey Steinberg hosts classes for singles to teach them how to flirt. Some may automatically read this and asks why on earth anyone would pay $95 for a two hour class in a bar to learn how to flirt? I call it getting an education.

Life after divorce is hard enough why add to it the inability to have fun while meeting people and dating? Some divorcees may have not flirted in ten, twenty, even thirty years ...even with their husbands or wives. A little (or a lot) of help is definitely in order to get back out into the dating waters.

Make eye contact, smile warmly, and then look away.

Imagine you see someone at a party, fundraiser, grocery store, bar, or national rally to rid the world of rude people who don’t hold the door open for you when your hands are full. How are you going to get them to notice you? Stare at the floor and hope your non-existent telepathic powers come into play at exactly that moment? No, you flirt. Here is a very easy tip to get you started to meeting your potential next lover, spouse, best friend:

Make eye contact, smile warmly, and then look away.

If you make eye contact without smiling you may appear uninterested or angry. Smile warmly to let them know you’re safe to talk to. Look away, so you don’t give the impression of that creepy man or woman who will eventually end up stalking them. Easy and requires no credit card, sore calf muscles, or giving up your first born. You can do this.

Remember that after the person you desire sees your interest and starts chatting you up, to keep it light and breezy. Don’t ask them what their credit score is or their view on global warming killing baby seals. Be yourself, and don’t take them or yourself to seriously. It may end up in love (or lust, whichever you prefer at the moment) or it may end up in a polite conversation at a rally to rid the world of rude people who don’t hold the door open for you when your hands are full. Either way, you’ve succeeded in Flirting 101!
