How to get more done in less time - part one

Part One: Identify Time You Previously Wasted

The initial key to getting more done in less time is to identify time that you previously wasted. Wasted time includes spending more time than anticipated on any given task. Say for instance that you wanted to "quickly" check your emails. An hour later, you realize how much time that has passed. Avoid those time wasters (social media, emails, television, etc.) by limiting the amount of time spent on each task, then stick to it.

Ask yourself the following questions to reduce the time wasted that can be redistributed to other areas:

  1. How much time do I need to check and respond to emails daily?
  2. How much time should be dedicated to social networking? Is it for business or pleasure?
  3. What is the one television show (per day or per week) that I most desire to watch?
  4. What is the maximum time I can spend total on email, social media and television?

Answering the first three questions honestly will help you to determine the answer to the last question. Subscribe to stay tuned for Part Two: Treat Priorities As Sacred.
