How to get into the college of your choice and... succeed!

Milpitas, CA (January 23) -- Having problems getting into the college of your choice? Check this out!

Newly elected Councilmember of the City of Milpitas Carmen Montano said the author of the book that demystified the complex college admissions process for Latino students will be in Milpitas to speak on her successful personal experience on college admissions.

After crafting her own children's pathway to Harvard and USC, Quetzal Mama Roxanne Ocampo shares her strategies in her book, "Flight of the Quetzal Mama: How to Raise Latino Superstars and Get Them Into the Best Colleges."

She will expound on her three strategies/Quetzal Mama principles to succeed in college and become a superstar.

Ocampo is a proud Latina mom. She will speak on how to break the intricacies and complexities of college admissions, so students can succeed in college, on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the Milpitas Public Library at Main Street from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

"Come and learn what it takes to get into the college of your choice," Ocampo said. After knowing Ocampo's practical strategies, parents will be informed and students can maximize their educational opportunities and earn their college degrees.

Also present in the speaking engagement are Laureate Representatives from National Hispanic University who will help students in the process of filling out their financial aid forms.

The affair is sponsored by the Hispanic Development Corporation with Councilmember Montano as its special guest and Milpitas Union School District (MUSD) Latino Liaison Isabel Shisler in attendance.
