How many times have you looked at your coffee carafe and been grossed out? Remember when you bought it how beautiful and clean it was? This is an easy way to naturally restore it to its former shine just like new using these simple products you probably already have.
Things You'll Need:
* Lemon juice
* Baking soda,
* scrubbie sponge
* Spray bottle
Step 1
Remove your carafe from the coffee machine. Dump any remaining drops of coffee, and just so you will be really impressed, try rinsing it out first under hot tap water. You will notice it's still brown and stained. There are a lot of cleaners out there, but this natural remedy is safe and a lot easier on your budget, especially since lemon juice can be used for so many things.
Step 2
Get your spray bottle and fill it with lemon juice. Pick up your coffee carafe and spray the entire carafe inside and out. Hold it and roll it around so that all the insides of the pot are completely covered with the lemon juice. For some reason, lemon juice is like the natural enemy of coffee stains.
Step 3
Take about 3 or 4 tablespoons of baking soda and sprinkle the inside and outside of the carafe. It should foam up, this is fine. You may want to roll the carafe around so that the foam has contact with all sides of the carafe. Now use your scrubbie sponge. You will notice that your pot comes clean almost instantly and this works as good as or better than vinegar! Rinse thoroughly, dry and marvel at your beautiful like-new carafe.
