With recent changes in our environment around us the climate has been acting like a thirteen-year-old girl; it’s just all over the place. It doesn’t take a brainiac to understand that our planet is changing and the adolescent weather changes are a clear indication of that. One minute the weather is identical to California right here in the middle of big ole’ Texas, then the next its like we’ve been zapped into the middle of a creepy horror film titled “ The Fog”. Now the dilemma of what to wear arises when getting dressed everyday due to this annoyance, should you layer up, or layer down? Gee thanks planet earth. Should you wear sandals, or boots? Lucky for you I have just the right style tips to keep your look fresh with current trends, while staying comfortable and dressed appropriately for this weather. The past few weeks here in Dallas have really tested you Dallanistas, there has been fog, humidity and rain, and then it’ll be sunny and perfect the next!
Let’s focus on how to dress chic and casual for a day like today; foggy, humid, and rainy. First things first, put your hair up, unless of course damp lifeless hair is what you’re going for. A humid, rainy day is a great day to give your hair a break from heating tools and try something simple like a fish tail, messy topknot, or throw on a cute beanie. Now that your hair is taken care of you can focus on your outfit. Tights, and Jeggings are the best choice for a rainy day. Denim feels beyond uncomfortable when wet, so by wearing tights or jeggings you avoid all of that while looking cute. Keep your top simple and chic by wearing a lose boyfriend style tee, or a tunic style. Throw on a staple light jacket or cardigan, with ankle, calf, or combat boots and your ready to go! Don’t forget to accessorize with a cute scarf and a carry it all bag. ( Put your umbrella inside!!) Another great option is a pleated skirt, one that hits just above the knee. Who says you can’t be girly in fog? A skirt with some boots and a safari style jacket are a match made in heaven for a gloomy day. Add pops of color to a girly look like this with your accessories.
