How to do tie dye

Regardless of whether or not you believe in free love, there's no denying tie dye is a must this season. Nothing says summer more than carefree style; it's all very hippie chic. This season, though, it's less Grateful Dead and more grown up. 

To do it right, try monochromatic tie dye, like the Silk Tie-Dye dress from Banana Republic at Keystone at the Crossing.  The use of different shades of blue and white keeps it from being overwhelming.

To wear it to work, try the Tie-Dye Printed Shirtdress from St. John. Just make sure to keep your hair and accessories simple.  Opt for nude heels and minimal jewelry.

To wear it to a wedding, try A.B.S. by Allen Schwartz. The darker colors - as opposed to more standard neon - ensure it's not obnoxious.
