We all get caught up in worrying about how our living room or kitchen look when we have company over, we often forget about one of the most important rooms in the home, the master bedroom. This is where you go for your retreat after a long day at work or with children. It should reflect rest, relaxation, and it should also spark romance in your relationship.

If your bedroom inspires none of the above you are definitely in some trouble in the love department and are in need of an extreme master bedroom makeover. Even if you are tired of the look of your current bedroom, hopefully this will give you some inspiration and motivation to get that room organized and ready for romance.

Step number one, we will start with the bed. For more intimacy try downsizing your bed from a King size to a Queen size. This will bring you closer to the one you love for more snuggle time. Then try picking up some sensual bedding such as satin or maybe a combination of satin and chenille (my personal favorite). Opting for this comfortable alternative will make you and your partner want to linger in bed for longer. Make sure to try down pillows and comforters to make it extra cozy.

Step number two, if you find you have some extra space in your room try adding in a cozy seating arrangement for two. Place the two seats at an angle towards each other so you and your partner can connect. If you place them facing away from each other the experts of Feng Shui suggest that this can cause friction in a relationship because of the lack of communication it will cause between the two of you.

Step number three, no television in the room, I stand by this and so should you. There is nothing like trying to fall asleep to a loud and obnoxious television blaring in the background. This can cause lots of unnecessary arguments in a relationship.

Step number four, no clutter allowed. Keep all unnecessary items out of your bedroom, the only essentials needed in a room is a bed, dresser, and nightstands. There is no need to have a desk, computer, and papers scattered throughout your room. Try and keep this space as clean and as organized as possible. This will be a lifesaver when it comes time to find something and there will be less arguing and you will be more likely to feel at peace with yourself. You will feel as if you are staying in a fancy hotel in Fiji, just keep it clean. Your bedroom should be used for sleeping only, not for working on projects for work, etc. This will help keep your room a peaceful retreat.

A master bedroom has several romantic essentials, colors, and artwork necessary to complete the romantic experience. Check back in the next few days to find out what these are.
