How to commute to New York Fashion Week from North Jersey

New York Fashion Week has the largest concentration of beauty products and beauty experts in one place at one time, but getting there can be a pain for the North Jersey girl.  It's more than worth it, though, when you consider the amount of swag and services to be had.  Here are some helpful tips for getting into, out of and around the city without messing a hair on your head.

Commuting to New York Fashion Week from Newark (Mass Transit)

If you live in or near Newark itself, the easiest way to get to New York Fashion Week is to take the Northeast Corridor Line (New Jersey Transit) from Penn Station Newark to Penn Station New York, and then switch to the #1 local subway line, which will take you directly to Lincoln Center.  For the New Jersey Transit train schedule, please click here.  For the #1 schedule, please click here.

Commuting to New York Fashion Week from Hudson County (Mass Transit)

In or near Hudson County?  Take the PATH train, with locations throughout Jersey City and in Hoboken.  Pick the Hoboken-33rd Street line (which can be viewed here), and then walk the block to Penn Station and follow the directions above for the #1 local subway.

Commuting to New York Fashion Week from Menlo Park (Mass Transit)

Depending on where you live in North or Central Jersey, it may be easier to drive to the Metropark station in Iselin, which has a nice park and ride facility and is less overwhelming than Penn Station Newark.  For the Metropark schedule, please click here.  Take the Northeast Corridor line and then folloow the directions above for the #1 local subway.

Driving in to New York Fashion Week

Prefer to follow your own timetable by driving in?  Lincoln Center has ample parking options, though during Fashion Week these garages and lots will fill up quickly, so give yourself plenty of wiggle room in order to arrive to your NYFW event on time.

Free taxi service at New York Fashion Week

Though the main NYFW events are held at Lincoln Center, there are tons of other events located all over the city.  The most exhausting part of Fashion Week is pounding the pavement.  Fortunately, U by Kotex is making things a little easier this year by offering free taxi service between the most frequented fashionable Manhattan destinations from February 9-16.  To make the offer even more attractive, U by Kotex will also be donating to Girls for Change for every ride taken in their taxis.  Look for the specially marked taxis at Lincoln Center and on Hudson Street between Gansevoort and Horatio, or follow @UGetsReal on Twitter for exact pickup times.
