Traditional Method: Fill a bucket with water, add ¼ cup bleach. Let brushes soak for 15 minutes, rinse, let dry.

Food & water dishes, plastic dog toys: Rinse with warm water before soaking.
Eco-Method: Soak bowls or toys in a sink filled with 1/3 cup white vinegar and water.
Traditional method: Soak toys or dishes in a mixture of 2 gallons of water, 1/3 cup bleach, and a squirt of dish soap.

Pet bed odors: In warmer months, leave the inner padding of dog and cat beds outdoors in the sunlight for 6 hours. The sunlight will help to clean it, while the fresh air helps remove odors.
Eco-Method: Baking soda is great at eliminating odors, and completely safe around pets. Sprinkle it onto your pets’ beds, blankets, favorite spot on the rug etc. Let it sit for 10 minutes before vacuuming away.
Traditional Method: Use a baking soda and perfumed powder mix sold commercially. Sprinkle onto pet bedding and let sit before vacuuming off.
