The countdown celebration in Bangkok is a unique experience that will stay with you forever. In front of Central World Square, there is the biggest countdown event in Bangkok. From the early evening, the crowd enjoys spectacular lights, sound shows and live stage performances by the best local artists. At midnight, you will see the fireworks light up the sky and on large-screen projections you may watch the fireworks shows from all over the world.

Sanam Luang is also a great place to witness the New Year's Eve fireworks display. If you prefer to get away from the crowd while you watch the fireworks than join a river cruise on Chao Phraya, the River of Kings, with champagne, live entertainment, cocktails and buffet. Alternatively, you may dine and drink at the rooftop gardens and watch the fireworks from the great vantage points. If you are still awake by sunrise time you will see many Thai people head over to the temples and make their prayers for a happy new year.

There are other options to celebrate New Year's Eve such as Thai dance performances and traditional music shows on multiple stages. The main events occur at Silom, RCA area or Khaosan Road. Silom is the Bangkok downtown zone and is a home for shopping, entertainment and also a hub for international business. In the morning after you may enjoy a fancy brunch in one of the many 5 star or lifestyle hotels in Bangkok.

Make sure you have a comfortable place to stay. In Bangkok, you will always find something that suits you well. Look for 5 star hotels on Silom road to maximize the Christmas experience. For any event at New Year's Eve, it is highly recommended to arrive two hours before the event begins to avoid the traffic. Christmas can be much more enjoyable in a land of palm trees and sunny beaches with 30 degrees Celsius. The celebrations in Bangkok are always incredible but during Christmas time, they get to a completely different level.
