Get gutsy and do something you are not use to. Spending time outside of your comfort zone learning a new skill or trying a new hobby can help you broaden your horizons. Think about something you have always wanted to do like learned new language, try take up cooking or doing something new. Trying new activities can help you feel more balanced.

Eat Less Sugar

Sugar is a major contributor to weight gain and holiday stress. Eating more food this holiday season could cause mood swings. If you feel you are unhappy or stressed out, try cutting back on the sugar. You can drink more water or tea between meals to avoid over eating sugar. "Sugar can cause cavities as well which is why it is good to avoid eating so much sugar," says Doctor Roane, a West Linn dentist.

Stay Grounded

Taking care of your health means cultivating a daily practice. Start your day off right by choosing healthy habits like drinking green juice. You can drink a fruit smoothie or drink water with lemon.

Be Compassionate with your Mishaps

If you overeat or have too much sugar be compassionate with yourself. Instead of mentally berating yourself be okay with where you are. Take baby steps day by day and focus on the big goal of trying to install new healthy habits. Holidays are a tough time to try to start a diet. Instead of focusing on big lifestyle changes take small steps such as drinking more water. You can go for walks outside or enjoy the small things more.

Spend Time with Family

Having connections and spending time with loved ones is important. Take time to be with loved ones, which makes a big difference during the holiday season. Spending time with family can be rewarding when you do activities and games. Curl up by the warm fire and share family stories with the people you care about, this will help you feel more happy and smile more, says the Dentist in Banks, OR.
