How to avoid ‘Clockwork Princess’ spoilers

As always, embargoes get broken (it even happened to Harry Potter.) Author Cassandra Clare addresses this today via Tumblr. "Despite the fact that bookstores have strict instructions not to sell the book, there are always employees who forget/don’t care etc. The fault is not with the people who bought the book, keep that in mind,” said Clare. Her final book in The Infernal Devices, "Clockwork Princess" comes out Tuesday (March 19.)

You can avoid spoilers. Clare shared some easy tips:

1) Avoid the tags

2) Use Savior or something else like it to blacklist topics like Clockwork Princess and Will Herondale

3) Consider staying off tumblr entirely.

You can still enjoy chatting with fellow fans. Mundie Moms always hosts a special forum for fans to visit AFTER reading the book. This is a great way for fans to interact and share their thoughts without ruining the reading experience for anyone.

If you post reviews via a blog or other site be considerate and clearly mark spoilers. I always post a spoiler-free review and then wait a week before posting any reviews with spoilers.

Clare also advises fans to not read the family tree, which will be in all first editions (excluding ebooks) before reading “Clockwork Princess.” “You’ll be sorry if you do!” she says.

Don’t forget to pre-order your first edition copy of “Clockwork Princess.” To participate in exciting giveaways don’t miss my “Clockwork Princess” giveaway roundup.
