How to Apply for Financial Scholarships & Colleges

There is a lot of opportunity for financial aid that is available to students. The student need to show that they have a financial need, superior academic achievement, or any special talent that they have that would help them in their educational pursuit.

There a lot of loans that are available to help with their education. You may not have to pay until you have graduated from college. However scholarships are given upon determining their academic achievement or their financial need to go to college.

You can write a letter to the organization that you want to attend:

Sample Letter:

Dear Sir/Madam or the Organization:

I am a student at ______________ high school and am applying for admission

to ______________ College or University for the fall____, and my major is ____. Inorder to attend college I need

financial assistance. Please send to me the necessary information to apply for the scholarships that you have available

from your organization.

I am sending a self-addressed envelop for your response. I appreciate your cooperation.

Thank you.

Inorder to be admitted to college a basic high school transcript must have (16) units or more of the following:

4 years of English

2 years of Mathematics

2 years of Natural Science

2 years of Social Science

Electives that are available and suitable for college entrance.

There are some schools that will accept students in the 11th grade. Rock Valley College will allow students to go to school while they are in high school. They can receive their college while they are still going to the local high schools.

Out of State Colleges may accept the students who have superior academic records. Jackson State University in Jackson, MS, and Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. You should check out other college to see if they have special programs available that you might want to attend.

GED Certification is accepted by most colleges if you did not complete a formal high school education.

Keep in mind that you may have to pay a processing fee for admission to the school.
There are some schools who do waiver the fee if you are unable to pay. You would probably have to state that the fee is a hardship for you.

Some or most schools require that you pass the Scholarship Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT) before entering college. Your high school should provide one of these test, and you should check out the tests through your school.

A 2.0 grade point average is required from the 9th through the 12th grades.

Letters of recommendation is usually required. You may want to ask one of your instructors to write a letter for you to go to college. If you have a counselor they can help you gain entrance to college by providing the necessary letters and materials and research for going to school.
