How the WWE should do the John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler Interncontinental Title change

On Smackdown this week Dolph Ziggler will face John Morrison for the Intercontinental Title.  Morrison is supposedly hurt and will miss some time (how much is debatable), so this is likely when Ziggler finally gets his big title win... but this is so much more than that... this is an opportunity to make Ziggler and Morrison stars without changing their position on the card at all.

Now, even if Morrison is hurt, he will be at Survivor Series as the captain of his team.  Luckily an 8-man tag makes it easy to hide a hurt performer.  On Smackdown, Ziggler should go to a draw with Morrison, preferably a time-limit draw, but a double countout works as well.  The week after Ziggler should demand a re-match, only for Morrison to put him off until the week after Survivor Series.  At that show, Ziggler and Morrison should be the final two, with Ziggler destroying Morrison, only to fall victum to a fluke pin.  After that, Ziggler, hugely upset about coming up short again, should viciously assault Morrison with a chair or the ring bell.  This would have to go on for awhile to get over just how badly Morrison was hurt.

On the next Smackdown would be their title match.  Their match should be scheduled to open the show, with a hurt Morrison attempting to come out, only to be sidetracked by Drew McIntyre (paid off) beating the hell out of him and the match being postponed until later in the night. The WWE could spend the whole show hyping whether Morrison could make it or not.  In the end, a badly bandaged and limping Morrison would emerge to put up a valiant fight, only to lose anyway.  After this, Morrison would not be seen for awhile.

Ziggler could then spend the time while Morrison healed as the champion, facing Matt Hardy who respects Morrison after their previous wars and is disgusted by Ziggler's actions.  After Ziggler prevails against Hardy, Morrison should be about ready to return for his big, Pay Per View revenge match.  Before this match, McIntyre could again try and stomp Morrison, only to be stopped by Hardy (who would get his heat back for losing the Ziggler feud by helping Morrison).  Then Morrison could have a long, great match with Ziggler when, after a ref bump, Ziggler tries to injure him in the same way he did at Survivor Series.  When this fails, Morrison triumps and both men are elevated by their instant classic feud without any extra television time being devoted to either.

Would you like this feud?  Does this match sound like it would get both men over?  Leave a comment below and check back later where I'll reveal where the steps of this feud came from and, then, on PulseWrestling tomorrow (it'll be linked here, worry not) to how this can be used to greatly improve the wrestling product of today.
