Kids these days with their earbuds and their texting and their rock n’ roll. What’s become of this world where kids not even into their double digits are boasting the latest smartphone? The cell phone generation seems to keep getting younger and younger. Already today, 48% of girls between the ages of six and twelve have cell phones, and more than half of those are smartphones. And even if they already have a phone, kids who save money are usually saving up for the latest piece of technology to get them online.
Youtube is the top pick for tweens' favorite site as it takes up 45% of their time on the internet and 23% say that they have an account. Facebook and Instagram are also popular with the eight to twelve age group with 38% and 44% respectively.
