We know how important it is for us to have “stuff”, and now we know how much waste our “stuff” makes.

So lets talk about how not recycling is affecting your life.

1. Overflowing Landfills: By not recycling items especially non biodegradable items you are personally contributing to: Atmospheric Pollution and Water Pollution, Land Pollution and yes that directly affects you. Remember the Bubonic Plague? Remember the Ozone Layer?

2. Increased Energy Usage: It takes way more energy to manufacture a product from scratch than to recycle it. It takes even less if you upcycle it yourself!

3. Money, Money and more money… Not only does it cost more in energy consumption, it also costs more money to make products from scratch. There are way more benefits to purchasing products made from recycled material.

4. Pollution is everywhere. Look around I bet you will be able to find some sort of pollution right from where your standing. In the air, in the water, in the soil and oh yes, in the food. Pollution goes no where but back into the system…your system.

According to the National Cancer Institute, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the North American Association of Central Cancer Registries and mortality data were collected by the National Center for Health Statistics, A total of 1,665,540 new cancer cases and 585,720 cancer deaths are projected to occur in the United States in 2014. Why do you think that is?

By not recycling we directly contribute to an ongoing battle we cannot win. We are polluting ourselves our planet and everything on it. So let's do the planet a solid and start doing little things like recycling to make this place habitable for everyone and everything.
