It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the cost of living has to be exceptionally high for the Duggar family. The '19 Kids and Counting' parents Jim Bob and Michelle don't exactly run an average household. In case anyone has ever wondered what an average meal for them can cost, here is an expense report from a recent outing: In a TMZ article dated Tues. Mar. 12, it was reported that the Duggars spent a whopping $614 at Bill's Bar & Burger in Manhattan on Mon. Mar. 11.
Feeding 23 people would be expensive even at McDonald's, but what the Duggars just spent is well....some people's rent payment, and maybe two car payments for some.
However, it is important to note that this particular restaurant is high priced. At least for the average person. TMZ shares that burgers at the joint start at $7.95, and could double in price if you want cheese and/or another burger patty. Shakes are in the $6 ball park, while fries are $4, nachos are $8, and sodas are $2.
Even with the hefty bill, the Duggar family did receive a discount. Six of their nineteen children were eligible for a kid's meal at $7.95 per meal.
So maybe this outing isn't their particular family spot, but it does give fans an idea of how much money it takes to raise such a large family.
The 'Duggars Do Asia' special premiere airs on TLC on Tues. Mar. 12 at 9/8 p.m.
