I read just today that spending on Christmas trees in the U.S. will rise 3.1 percent this year to $3.4 billion.
This is the highest spending has gone since before the recession in 2008.
Black Friday sales were up. Cyber Monday sales were up. Why not for Christmas trees, too?
Americans will spend about $800 million for 25 million real trees this year.
They will spend another $2.6 billion on 10 million artificial versions.
To think how much difference we could do in the world if this money were spent on something more Godly instead of on something that couldn't be less Godly.
How much money will you be spending on your Christmas tree this year?
We bought a rinky dink tree several years back (someone might have given it to us). And all of our decorations are hand made by my 3-year old.
Now, if I were really Christian, I'd take the money I might have spent on a new tree and give that away. Hmm... I'd better rethink.
