Infidelity, suspected infidelity, or even rumors of infidelity can lead to acts of violence.
Because infidelity is such a highly volatile situation, it is directly or indirectly the cause of many cases of domestic violence.
Below are 12 common scenarios involving cheating spouses or significant others, infidelity, and extramarital affairs:
• a betrayed spouse strikes out violently at the cheater
• a spouse who suspects infidelity questions his or her mate and the interrogation erupts into violence.
• a cheating spouse is caught in the act and the husband or wife, attacks the cheater or lover with a weapon of some kind.
• an infidelity victim has a revenge affair that backfires and results in an act of violence on the part of one or more of the parties involved.
• a cheating husband comes home drunk and takes his anger and frustration out on his wife.
• a betrayed woman attacks the woman she suspects her spouse or significant other of cheating with.
• a cuckolded husband attacks his cheating wife or her lover.
• a man beats his wife or girlfriend because he suspects her of having an affair.
• a mistress attacks her lover’s wife.
• a scorned woman damages or destroys her spouse or significant other’s personal property and he reacts with violence.
• a cheater kills his or her spouse or significant other in order to be with the person with whom they are having an affair.
• a cheating spouse kills his or her spouse and children, then commits suicide.
These are just a few of the common scenarios which involving acts of violence resulting from infidelity.

Acts of Infidelity-Related Violence in the News
Within the past year, the following high profile cases of infidelity-related violence made front page news:
• An argument between entertainer Chris Brown and girlfriend, Rihanna over suspected infidelity, erupted into a violent fight in which Chris Brown was arrested for viciously beating the singer in her face.
• Former NFL player Steve McNair was shot dead in his love nest by his young mistress Sahel Kazemi, who then committed suicide by turning the gun on herself.
• When Brooke Hundley was caught while trying to hand delivering a graphic letter to her former lover Steve Phillips’ wife, she caused property damage in her attempt to get away.
• More recently, Elin Nordegren chased and assaulted Tiger Woods with a golf club after learning of his affair with Rachel Uchitel, causing him to lose control and have an accident while tying to escape in his car. The incident led to the exposure of multiple episodes infidelity.
Think Before You Act
Infidelity is a highly charged situations which can quickly escalate to intentional or unintentional violent acts of retaliation or revenge. That’s why it’s vital for all parties involved to think before they act.
Violence is unacceptable. It doesn’t resolve anything, and as a result, someone could end up behind bars, in the hospital, or worse, yet – in the grave.
