"How I Met Your Mother" will air a special episode later on tonight on CBS, but work has now begun on another special episode of the series. On Sunday, Jan. 26, Spoiler TV shared a series of tweets by Craig Thomas, and he revealed that work had started on the script for the series finale. Thomas said the following on his Twitter:

We're writing the series finale script right now. That's real. #HIMYM.

Thomas did get nostalgic as he worked on the final script. He even commented on corrections his screenwriting program made while he worked on the script. Details about the finale have been kept under wraps for the most part, but fans will see a time jump on the big episode.

"How I Met Your Mother" tried a huge experiment with this season. The action has been over one weekend period, but the big moment will finally arrive. Ted will now meet his future wife and the mother of his children. Josh Radnor spoke about the series and the end of it during the filming of the big episode, and he said the following, according to From Inside The Box:

"Two hundred episodes and the end of the show can't help but put you in a reflective moment, but there's nothing but good feelings, really."

The series has played a major role in his life, but it will soon come to an end. "How I Met Your Mother" will continue to air on Monday nights on CBS.
