Kyle MacLachlan played the Captain in several episodes of "How I Met Your Mother," and Zap 2 It reports on Feb. 2 that he is coming back to scare Ted and his friends once again. In past episodes of the show that featured the Captain, Jennifer Morrison as Zoe was also there. Most people will not miss her as she was the crazy ex-girlfriend that wanted Ted to cozy up to her husband.
The circumstances of The Captain's return are not being revealed and there is no word as to whether Zoe will also make her return, but fans hope that she will stay in Storybrooke. The Captain hasn't been in an episode of "How I Met Your Mother" since season six, but he will make his appearance on Feb. 18th.
Kyle also currently guest spots as the new mayor in this season of "Portlandia" where he takes a more active role with more frequent appearances than the previous "mayor". Regardless of what brings The Captain back to "How I Met Your Mother," fans can get their final "ahoy" in now as there is not another scheduled appearance listed.
