The Playbook strikes again
The scams, cons, hustles, hoodwinks, gambits, flim-flams, strategems and bamboozles of Barney are back and in full effect. Now that Robin and him are no longer together he is back to his old tricks.
The Playbook seemed like the show was attempting to making up for relationship of Barney and Robin. Because so many fans loved Barney's antics over the years, there was entire episode dedicated to him.
The Playbook worked in many ways. First the description of each scam was hilarious. Complete with old time music and Barney winking at the camera. Marsha also helped the episode out by being very smug with Robin and taungting her with discovering her true love very soon.
One of Barneys best plays is the Lorenzo Von Matterhorn. By Barney picking a girl with a real nice the show continues to set it self apart from other sitcoms. There are television shows where characters are still using pay phones. On hiymy it is set in reality, so in this universe people own cell phones, and really good ones too. Robin actually meeting a guy that may turn out to be the love of her life.
The Playbook was a solid episode and the return of single Barney played very well. Now again I must say I am ready for some forward movement on Ted and who he will be dating next.
