Fans have a pretty good hunch that the “How I Met Your Mother” comedy will be getting season nine; fans are just waiting for an official confirmation. Well, rest assured, because on Wednesday, Jan. 30, star of the show Cobie Smulders herself confirmed that hunch to E! Online.
While promoting her upcoming film “Safe Haven,” Cobie Smulders spoke with E! Online about her sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” and if the show was coming back for season nine. “It’s a tricky thing. There’s a lot of people involved in a decision like that,” Smulders tells the source. “But luckily everybody made the same one and came on board.”
A ninth season was never a sure thing though, and Smulders tells E! Online how she thought it was not happening for a minute. “Around the holidays it started feeling like, ‘oh, it might not [happen]’ it made me really sad,” Smulders says.
