Resting ourselves in God’s care is one of the hardest things for the Egoic Mind to do. Our ability to surrender is a process of giving trust and receiving blessings. Very seldom is one of us so fitted that we are able to completely surrender and accept the world as a Perfect Expression of God overnight, though it can happen. Many of us journey in the process through trusting a little and after seeing a positive result we can trust a little more. As we begin to recognize Grace for what it is, we learn to seek it actively in all our efforts. We no longer desire to move alone. We trust with our whole hearts and minds that in God’s care we will find the greatest gifts of life.
Bob Marley said: "Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery-none but ourselves can free our minds." Freedom comes as a result of letting go. We all have very individualized mental snares. We acquire these strange mental defects through years of inaccurate perceptions. The word inaccurate is used here to describe a state that doesn’t serve our highest good: it doesn’t allow us to express fully the Love that we are. Most of our inaccurate perceptions are defensive tactics for dealing with the world. We acquire these tactics as we learn that we are alone in this world and that it is a scary place. So, quite naturally, as we begin to feel the Presence of God in and around us we begin to be able to let go of some of these mental shields. As we learn that we are not alone, as we see that Life is a wonderful journey, as we shed our fears we begin to live in a way that allows us to be completely vulnerable. This letting go process is different for each individual because each one of us has had different experiences and seen things in their own special way.
"None but ourselves can free our minds." No one but you can do the work that is necessary to experience the Freedom and Love that you desire; this is because no one but you knows what is keeping you in bondage. Denial, fear of losing who you are, and unwillingness to change are always the greatest hang-up when trying to remove mental entrapments, though they are not the only ones. When these states crop up and attempt to block you from growth and enlightenment remember that you are not alone. You are in God’s care every step of the way. God is walking with you as you, feeling everything you feel and being everything you’re being. Trust in God’s care for you and walk forward in the Light. As we learn to trust the Divine Partnership, the interaction between The All and the individual, we can see that there is nothing to fear. God is all there is. So we surrender to God’s Love and with God’s care for us we are free to experience our Divine Self.
We shall end where we began; where we will always be: In God’s care.
