It’s time for some engagement photos! Or so says newly engaged Jessa Duggar, anyway. The “19 Kids and Counting” star has shared some photos following her engagement to Ben Seewald. The bride-to-be- posted to Instagram on Monday, posting shots of her engagement ring and a picture of herself looking adoringly at her future hubby.
The 21-year-old reality star captioned a pic that showed off her new silver band with: "Y'all! I still can't believe it! I'M ENGAGED TO THE MOST AMAZING GUY ON EARTH!" Every time I look down at the ring on my finger...it takes my breath away! I love you, @ben_seewald!"
The couple’s engagement was announced last week, and fans will get to see the proposal on an upcoming episode of the Duggar family’s popular reality show. TLC posted a sneak peek video that details how the whole proposal went down, but they must be saving the “Will you marry me?” part for primetime.
What we do know is this: While Seewald previously told People he didn’t “feel pressure to get married,” it turns out the 19-year-old planned to pop the question to his lady love months ago.
Of the proposal he staged at the Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Seewald revealed, “I’ve been planning this day for several months. Just talking to people, getting ideas and thinking about… Trying to be creative, like, ‘How can I make this a day to remember?’”
He made it memorable all right – ben popped the question to Jessa at the end of a long scavenger hunt.
“With every clue, I was really excited, but I was also nervous the whole time,” Jessa said in the clip. “I was like, ‘I don’t know where he is. He could show up at any point.”
Proud parents Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar were apparently on hand for the proposal as well—or at least in the vicinity. At the end of the video, Jim Bob thanked fans for their well wishes and dished, “It probably won’t be too long before they’re tying the knot.”
While young marriages are already a Duggar family tradition (Michelle married Jim Bon at and daughter Jill Duggar recently tied the knot at age 23), Seewald’s father told People that he doesn’t think his son is too young to get married. Of Ben’s high profile proposal, Michael Seewald said, “I was the same age as Ben when I was going through the same thing. For me, it helped to mature me. A committed relationship does a lot to mature a young man. It does make them grow up a little bit. I can see that happening to Ben already.”
The new season of “19 Kids and Counting” starts on Sept. 2 at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
