Many of us have been raised and taught that Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah died for our sins. There doesn’t seem to be a problem of Justice involved in the matter, at first glance. However some Jews who know the scriptures of the prophets, which Jesus said cannot be broken nor will end till heaven and earth pass (Matthew 5:17-19). Those passages in Ezekiel 18 and Jeremiah 31:30, makes it clear that unlike many today think, Sin does not pass on as if inherited from parents to children. Oh I know what is taught. It is just not true. What is passed on are the effects of those sins. There is a difference. A mother can become a drug addict and the child can be born addicted but only the mother sinned. In the passages above in Ezekiel and Jeremiah, it is explained that the people were going around saying, “The fathers have eaten a sour grape and the children’s teeth is set on edge.” God disagreed! He never agreed to this. This is what God says in Ezekiel 18: verse 20 “The soul that sins, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father; neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.”
So the question that the Jewish person asked me was a good one and here is the answer.
The Law does say that no man can die for another’s sin. (Neither can a cow or lamb) However, what God did, some may call a loop hole. It is not. It was part of the designed plan as I will explain. The Apostle Paul no doubt knew that scripture says every man will die for his own sin Ezekiel 18: 20 and Jeremiah 31:30. The Apostle says in explanation, “We judge that if one died for all then all is dead.”(2 Corinthians 5:14) That is that legally according to Paul, the only way this could have been acceptable is if all is considered dead LEGALLY. That means legally no flesh is subject to the law of God and can’t be. This is exactly what Paul teaches. The sentence is carried out in Christ and people not in Christ are but dead men walking. That is why the Church is called in that ONE Body of Christ…and the called are not even considered alive in the flesh but rather via their mind grabbing whole onto Christ is considered a newly created being, which will only be fully realized individually at the resurrection.
According to the Apostle Paul this principle is demonstrated in the consequences of marriage. If a married woman goes and be with another man while her husband is alive, she will be considered an adulteress; but if her husband be dead she is not considered an adulteress even though she is married to another man. This shows how death frees you from the law. That in this case we should be married to the resurrected supernatural Christ, not the Christ in the flesh which died. This method also does something else more perfect that animal sacrifices. It eliminates the need for repeated sacrifices. Because if a person is legally dead, no law can be held against him except that he has already to once and for all. For that reason we have been left legally dead. Only what we do through the Spirit of God is counted to be the living Christ THAT NEVER BEARKS THE LAW.
Consider this also, this will explain a couple things that some have misunderstood. We do not inherit Adam’s sin. Yet you cannot bring a clean thing out of an unclean. Adam became dying flesh, so ALL would have died even if they had not sinned, just because they were part of his flesh. If it had ever happened that no one sinned, there would have been a conflict with the rule of every man dying for his own sin. God made it this way so that ONE MAN Christ could also redeem man. This is why Jesus literally became part of this long line of Dying flesh, so that he could redeem it through death, paying the penalty and life via the resurrection. The Apostle Paul explains (1 cor. 15th chapter) If what I am saying and Paul said is not true then Isaiah 53 has no explanation legally.
