Are you wondering if your iPad is worth it? If you are still on the edge on whether or not to purchase an iPad, here are some uses for the iPad you may not have thought about which may push you over the edge.
8 Great Uses for the iPad
1. Mobile Gaming. There's no need for a Nintendo DS or Sony PSP if you have an iPad. The iPhone set a new standard for mobile gaming, and expect it to be taken to a new level with the iPad.
2. eReader. There are many comparisons between the iPad and the Kindle, and while Amazon's device might be a little easier on the eyes, the iPad will offer a greater selection of books. And with the announcement of , there will be a virtual library of titles available for free.
3. Business. Yes, the iPad can be put to work. Apple is releasing it's popular iWork productivity suite for the iPad, which gives you access to a word processor, spreadsheet and presentation software. The cloud computing movement will also provide many web-based alternatives, and expect more software companies to jump on board by providing business applications to the app store.
4. Text and Tweet and IMDB from your couch. The iPad is going to be the best TV accessory since the invention of the remote control. Have you ever wanted to text or tweet something while watching a show? TextPlus provides free text messaging for the iPad and there are many great Twitter clients for the iPhone OS that will run on the iPad. And IMDB makes the must-have iPad app list because of how handy it will be to look up an actors name when you spot a familiar face on the tube.
5. Watch TV while at a football game. Ever wanted to take TV with you no matter where you are? If you have a Sling Box, SlingPlayer Mobile makes the iPad 3G the perfect mobile television solution.
6. Buy movies and TV episodes from iTunes. The iPhone makes an adequate video player, but merely adequate. It's simply too small for sitting around watching anything more than a short clip. The iPad's bigger display is perfect for curling up in bed and watching some video before drifting off to sleep, which makes the $1.99 TV episodes and $3.99 movie rentals very attractive.
7. GPS. For those without an iPhone or smartphone, there's no need to invest in a GPS if you have an iPad 3G. When you put the iPad 3G's GPS together with a data connection, you have a handy little navigator that will not only help you find where you are going, but also locate gas stations and fast food joints while on the way.
8. Cooking Guide. Dock your iPad in the kitchen and install a free recipe app like Epicurious Recipes, and you'll have your own little cooking guide. Why buy Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking when you can just download an app?
Need more excuses? The iPad will let your browse the web, watch videos, play games, read books, exchange email and can even run a small home office with relatively inexpensive productivity software.

Totally agree with #3. Once businesses begin developing apps specifically for the iPad, we will see a new wave of uses for tablets in the workforce much beyond iWork. Salesforce, Huddle, any eBanking or healthcare organization would be foolish not to build an iPad app. Workers are increasingly using mobile devices to get work done. I think the healthcare organizations will find number of uses for an iPad; Accessing patient records, patient entry/exit, clinical trials. The healthcare industry is already one of the larger users of tablets PCs. The iPad is lighter, no keyboards for germs to hide in, and less expensive. The damn thing (iPad) better deliver. I get mine Saturday!
8 reasons why this is bulls***:
1. Will you always carry a backpack for your iPad, just in case you wanna play?
2. A dedicated eReader is by far easier on the eyes, ever tried to read for hours on your computer?
2a. I thought Project Gutenberg is free for everyone, not only for iPad owners, must be my fault...
3. Writing text and working on spreadsheets is definitely easier with a real keyboard, plus when using a device for Business, it should have some ports to connect a beamer or the like!
4. Oh hell, i stupid idiot used a notebook for that :(
Shame on me, i even liked my real keyboard.
5. Yeah, thats it! m(
6. Well i still prefer my 50" TV in favor of a 10" photo frame ;)
7. Oh, thats truly better than a smartphone or a dedicated GPS thats always in your car.
8. I definetly agree with that, thats a nice usage.
Oh, only 7 reasons, i'm sorry...
On #8, we here at BigOven.com www.bigoven.com) completely agree. We'll have a pretty useful recipe app with over 170,000 recipes (and an integrated grocery list) ready to go at launch.
Yeah... NoAppleTroll, Just like a PC enthusiast (blind sheep) to bash a product he hasn't used just because it's a Mac. I don't understand why these PC loyalists take time out of their day to write about how much they hate Apple products - just don't buy them....plain and simple. Just stick with your PC and your horrid Microsoft products and shut the #$&* up. "I'm a PC and Windows Seven was my idea".....LOL!! what a sick Joke! Some time in the future when Microsoft and/or Google take apart the IPad and figure out how to duplicate it, then they will come out with their own Pad. Then all you PC loyalists will think it's a great idea.
Dear Apple Bashers -
Please focus on your spreadsheets and word documents as us creators who use and have used Apple products for 25 years don't need your opinions on the best creative machines in the world!!!!
The ipad is NOT a computer it's for people ON THE GO who want entertainment. Stay at home with your TV and your PC with your viruis's and bad interfaces! And let us creative people provide the content to keep you users occupied.
SIgned a loyal Apple user who bought stock at $80.. now at $235!!!
Thanks for the textPlus love, we're excited to bring texting to a whole new level!
Audio/Video equipment or "remote" control of TVs, DVD players, surround sound processers, etc. are also a gret app for the iPad. With the iPad wifi connected to a control box, like the BC4X1 from Bitwise controls (www.bitwisecontrols.com/bc4x1.php)you can turn your iPad into a very handy and easy to use "remote" control. The combination of these two products is less than $1,000US and offers the capabilities of systems that cost several times that.
Office2 HD works great for editing office documents, of course you dont want to do a lot of typing on the screen but for reading and making minor changes its great and it works beautifully with Google Docs.
as for reading on it, I have no problems reading on it for hours, turn the brightness down a bit and its not bad on the eyes at all, I have read 3 books on mine since I got it and its really great for reading.
Awesome!
the only good reason to buy ipad
