How can a diagnosis of "prediabetes" be turned around?

Millions of people today, find themseves with the condition called Prediabetes,

and many more have it but aren't aware they have it. An article

in the online health Website, WebMD.com (www.WebMD.com)

called, "Prediabetes: 7 Steps to Take Now ,What to do to stop prediabetes

from becoming diabetes", by Winnie Yu, says that 79 million Americans,

have the diagnosis which is an indicator of elevated blood sugar.

Eleven percent of these people will go on to become type 2 diabetics in

within three years.

The best way to treat Prediabetes is through lifestyle changes. To

stop the progression of Prediabetes to Diabetes to Type 2 Diabetes,

the following recommendations are given: Become more active.

Start slowly with aerobic-type exercises if posssible, such as walking or

stair climbing. Build up gradually to more difficult exercise.

The exercise can: help burn fat/increase weight loss, and lower glucose

levels in the blood.

Lose weight, even if it's only ten to twenty pounds. Schedule more doctors'

visits for encouragement. Only do this if you feel it is helping you.

Follow a healthy diet. This means: keeping calorie levels down,

eating fruits and vegetables (mostly low carbohydrate ones).

Also, eat whole grains. Each foods high in fiber, such as beans, celery,

lettuces, carrots. Avoid high fat content foods. Fats contribute to

diabetes in general, and are a source of weight gain.

Also, become informed about the conditions of: Pre-diabetes, Type 2

Diabetes and Type 1 Diabetes. Get plenty of sleep and rest.

A diagnosis of Prediabetes isn't a"sentence" to a lifetime diagnosis

of diabetes. There's still time to reverse it.
