The Government shutdown has generated a lot of response on social media. Scrolling through your news feed or Twitter feed you’re sure to see plenty of posts, gifs’ photos, etc. commenting on the recent shut down. The government is being met with mostly bad media about the recent event. During this time over 800,000 government employees will sit at home without work.
Most basic functions of the government that would affect the public will continue to operate. For example the mail and military will still be active. However, state parks are closed, federal loans are on hold, and it will be difficult to obtain passports and other permits.

So what are social media users saying about this? Mostly bad things. Republicans and Democrats alike seem to be disappointed that Congress could not work this out before a shut down.
