There seems to be a stalemate between the Democrats and Republicans when it comes to passing a budget. The deadline for the budget is coming soon and if there is no agreement, the federal government will shutdown. What does that mean to us, the average American citizen? It could mean no mail, no federal law enforcement, no Social Security check, etc. This is all perpetuated by the Democrats who continue to hang on to the President’s Budget proposal, which does not cut nearly enough, while not answering the biggest budget-buster of them all, the many entitlement programs that are sucking the economy dry. The Democrats are more worried about their re-elections and appeasing their special interests (labor unions, environmentalist groups, etc.), then they are for doing what is right for the country.
Americais in dire need of a sound fiscal policy. The economy is on the verge of collapse. Here is a list of what needs to happen in order for America to prosper again (not in any particular order):
1. No more Stimulus Bills
2. Budget cuts (have to look at entitlement programs)
3. Cut Taxes
4. Business friendly environment (eliminate useless regulations)
a. Free-Market Capitalism
5. Stop inflation
a. Get the Federal Reserve under control (gold/silver standard??)
6. Investigate and stop fraud, waste, and abuse
7. Fair trade practices with other nations
8. Look at new strategies for the ‘War on Drugs’
9. Reagan’s “Peace through Strength” principle of national security
10. Limited government
a. Constitutional principles
11. Secure the U.S. Borders; Real Immigration Reform
12. GET INVOLVED
a. Grassroots Activism (Be the change you want to see)
13. Limited/Illiminate foreign aid
It is time to get the fiscal house in order. America will implode if the economy is not fixed soon. It is time for some fiscal responsibility. God bless America!
