Two Colorado witnesses driving northwest along Road 97 toward Conifer report watching a large triangle-shaped object hovering over nearby tree tops with "white blinding lights" and a "strange blue and green light on the front of the craft," according to September 14, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The two had just left Kennedy Gulch and were near Conifer when they made a left turn and encountered the object.
"My friend saw something in the sky and told me to look," the reporting witness stated. "I turned and looked at a 60-degree angle up to my left, and saw three lights in a triangle shape."
The reporting witness details what his friend saw.
"My friend then turned and looked back at the craft and he saw a very large object in the sky hovering over the tree tops on the left side of the road."
The object then moved across the road, turning slightly - "exposing large, white blinding lights alongwith a strange blue and green light on the front of the craft."
The two expected an explosion - assuming they were witnessing something about to crash. But they made another turn and could see no sign of the object.
"We have absolutely no idea or any explanation of the whereabouts of this strange craft."
Conifer is an unincorporated town in Jefferson County, CO, located along Route 286, in the foothills west of Denver. No images or video was included with the MUFON report, which was filed on September 14, 2011. The events occurred on September 10, 2011. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

Colorado is a current UFO ALERT 3 rating, with a high number of UFO sightings nationally. Colorado had 29 reports in August 2011 - the 12th highest reporting state - while California had 127 UFO reports - the highest reporting state in the nation.

CO, September 10, 2011 - UNABLE TO DESCRIBE SIGHTING IN LESS THAN 25 WORDS. MUFON Case # 31813.
WE WERE LEAVING KENNEDY GULCH HEADING NORTHWEST ON CO RD 97 TOWARD CONIFER AND WERE MAKING APPROXIMATELY 120 DEGREE TURN TO THE LEFT. MY FRIEND SAW SOMETHING IN THE SKY AND TOLD ME TO LOOK, I TURNED AND LOOKED AT A 60 DEGREE ANGLE UP TO MY LEFT AND SAW THREE LIGHTS IN A TRIANGULAR SHAPE. MY FRIEND THEN TURNED AN LOOKED BACK AT THE CRAFT AND HE SAW A VERY LARGE OBJECT IN THE SKY HOVERING OVER THE TREETOPS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT THEN HOVERED ACROSS THE ROAD AND TURNED SLIGHTLY EXPOSING LARGE WHITE BLINDING LIGHTS ALONG WITH A STRANGE BLUE AND GREEN LIGHT ON THE FRONT OF THE CRAFT. WE WERE THEN EXPECTING TO SEE A LARGE EXPLOSION OR SEE THIS CRAFT ON THE GROUND AS SOON AS WE TURNED THE NEXT RIGHT HAND CORNER. AS WE TURNED THE CORNER THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO SIGHT OF THE CRAFT, WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA OR ANY EXPLANATION OF THE WHEREABOUTS OF THIS STRANGE CRAFT.
