Hovering lights over Virginia mountain reported moving to ground level

A Virginia witness reports the third case of a single bright, white light that hovers about 75 feet above a local mountain and then "slowly descends below the tree line and disappears," according to February 8, 2012, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

All three observations occurred between February 2 and 6, 2012, although the town name is not mentioned in the public portion of the MUFON report.

"Sometimes they appear higher/lower in the sky but always display the same pattern of being stationary with constant light and slow descents," the witness stated. "The placement of the sighted lights has been variable, i.e. sometimes visible at a higher point on the slope of the mountain."

No images or videos were included with the report. The above quotes were edited for clarity.

Virginia is a current UFO ALERT 5 rating,
with a low number of UFO sightings nationally. Virginia had 13 reports in January, the 16th highest reporting state - while California had 90 reports in January 2012 - the highest reporting state in the nation.
