Houston to face Texas-Pan American in final non-conference game of season

Sporting a 10-2 record, the Houston Cougars will look to extend their five-game winning streak against Texas-Pan American on Thursday evening.

The match will be the Cougars last non-conference game of the season.

Texas-Pan American brings a 7-9 record into Hofheinz Pavilion. In their last game on Monday, the Broncs fell to Oregon State, 84-59.

The Cougars will be led by Danuel House, who was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Week for the last week of December.

House scored a season high 22 points in the Cougars’ latest win over Prairie View A&M.

The freshman forward sunk four free throws in the final 21 second of the game to secure the win.

Texas Pan-American will look to the skills of Brandon Provost as their offensive punch.

The red-shirt senior who played high school basketball for Katy's Seven Lake High School is averaging 12.3 points per game.

Following Thursday’s game, Houston will embark on its 16-game conference schedule.

First up for the Cougars in C-USA action will be SMU.

The Mustangs will visits Hofheinz Pavilion on January 9 with a 7 p.m. tip off.
