Houston Rockets rumors have Patrick Beverley as the new starting point guard. These Rockets rumors indicate Jeremy Lin will start coming off the bench for the team. According to a report from ESPN on Wednesday (Oct. 30), the information was leaked my forward Chandler Parsons in advance of the opening night game. Coach Kevin McHale declined to talk about roster moves, but that hasn't stopped other players from discussing.
Lin addressed the situation by stating, "I have known for a while so it is not really a surprise for me. I think for me, I am just focused on basketball. You know, I need to control what I do when I am out there, like I said. I feel like I am beating a dead horse with some of the things I'm saying." It appears that he is taking this coaching decision with class, especially because it could mean the second unit just got much better with him in it.
There are a lot of expectations for the team after acquiring Dwight Howard in the offseason, so the pressure is on McHale to make sure that the wins start mounting up. As far as fantasy basketball value for these players, Patrick Beverley just became much more valuable in typical leagues, making Jeremy Lin only usable in deeper formats for now. These should also still be considered only Houston Rockets rumors until the team confirms that starting lineup for Wednesday against the Charlotte Bobcats.
If Beverley is available in your fantasy basketball league, it might be worth taking a chance on him.
