Houston restaurants have a busy schedule this fall with charity events and the premiere of new menu items all designed to entice diners to sample some of the best they have to offer.
PREGO ANNOUNCES FALL/WINTER CHARITY
Prego restaurant, 2520 Amherst in Rice Village, has started a fixed price menu promotion to help benefit local charities. Throughout the year, Prego will team up with different local charities and donate a portion of each of those menus sold to the designated charity.
To kick things off, Prego is partnering with Urban Harvest, a dynamic non-profit organization committed to enriching the city of Houston through youth gardening and nutritional education programs, more than 100 community gardens and fantastic farmers markets. Urban Harvest will be the beneficiary through the end of December 2013.
Diners can order a two-course lunch menu for $20 and a three-course menu for $35, with 5% of each menu sold going to Urban Harvest.
"We have been grateful to be associated with Urban Harvest for many years now and support their mission, and we think this is a perfect fit to start this initiative which we hope will raise awareness of the great work that the organization does for the community," says Owner/Executive Chef John Watt.
