Houston City Club Craft Beer Festival: Meet the people, sample the beer

Craft beer festivals and events continue to be scheduled in the Houston area at a rapid pace in 2013 as more breweries open and more individuals discover the great taste and distinction that only craft beer can offer. Another festival is planned for next week and it promises a, opportunity to not only sample some locally- brewed beer, but also to meet the men and women behind the operations. Here is some background information:

What: Craft Beer Festival

Where: Houston City Club, 1 City Club Dr., Houston

When: Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Why: To meet local brewing personnel and sample their products

Houston City Club is an exclusive organization distinguished by its many fine amenities and interesting events than span both personal and professional realms. Many may recall that Houston City Club sponsored a craft beer festival in July, 2012. The event was a huge success and this year’s festival promises to be even bigger and better than before.

Guests at the Craft Beer Festival will be treated to beers from the Houston area and other parts of Texas along with foods specially prepared by area chefs to match the taste characteristics of specific products. The breweries that have confirmed their attendance include:

  • 8th Wonder Brewery
  • Alamo Beer Company
  • Buffalo Bayou Brewing
  • City Acre Brewing
  • Fort Bend Brewing
  • Karbach Brewing
  • Lone Pint Brewing
  • No Label Brewing
  • Saint Arnold Brewing
  • Southern Star Brewing

There could possibly be others as well, but the above ten breweries are the ones confirmed for now. They include eight Houston- area breweries along with two others (Alamo and Real Ale) that, while not headquartered in Houston, sell their products throughout the greater Houston metropolitan area and are well- known by Houston craft beer fans.

Reservations are required for the Craft Beer Festival and they can be made by either calling Yvette at 713-840-9001 or by sending an e-mail to yvettematchette@ourclub.com. The cost of the event is $25 per person and there is limited space available, so make you reservation today!
