After an hour long police chase that spanned two counties, a suspect was arrested. The chase began at approximately 1:00 p.m. when Houston patrol officers detected suspicious activity stemming from a white van. As the officer approached, the suspect fled. Several police officers followed as the high speed chase ensued. The van weaved in and out of traffic, jumped curbs, nearly hit a motorcyclist, and endangered pedestrians and motorists alike. The chase culminated when Houston police followed the van into a parking garage at the Houston Mall. The suspect leapt from the top of a parking garage onto a platform. Police were able to wrestle him to the ground, where they placed him under arrest.
