Being prepared when you come to the show ensures your best experience. Veterans of the bridal show circuit have these general recommendations for...
Parking: There are pay to park public lots and the Discovery Green parking garage is in close proximity to the George R Brown Convention Center. Besides the Bridal Extravaganza, the George R Brown is also hosting the Premier Gun Show this weekend. Expect parking lots to fill up quickly.
Name stickers: If you bring preprinted stickers with you name, wedding date and contact information (address, phone, e-mail) you will save yourself time when you visit the booths. Printed stickers ensure your information will be legible so your favorite vendors will be able to easily get back to you with the information you request. Stickers can often be used to complete prize entry forms too.
Shoes: Dress comfortably and wear shoes made for walking. You will be on concrete floors all day weaving your way through all those displays. Wheel chairs are available for rental.; strollers are welcome.
Deposits: Most vendors are prepared to write up your order and accept your deposit right at the show. If you think you will be ready to make commitments this weekend, bring your check book or a credit card to start the reservation process. Be sure to ask your vendor if they consider your deposit non-refundable. Do this in case you have buyer’s remorse when you get home or find something you like better when you reach that fantastic booth in the 19th aisle.
Spend the day: There is a lot to see. The Bridal Extravaganza is considered the largest bridal show in the US. If you plan to see everything, plan to allocate a good chunk of your day to the show. Be open to visiting booths for products or services you may not plan on purchasing. Many great ideas come from observing the best in the business displaying their newest examples of their work. In general, young children do not enjoy the crowds and quickly become bored when the adults spend all that time talking with vendors. A stroller, snacks and an amusing toy are musts if the kiddos plan to join you.
Food and beverage: Lunch and drinks can be purchased at the show. Cash or credit cards are accepted.
