The Houston Auto Show and Jeep brand from Chrysler announced today, Jan. 16, the details of the Jeep Camp exhibit that debuts at the 30th annual Houston Auto Show at Reliant Center starting next week on Wednesday, Jan. 23.
The Camp Jeep exhibit, in making its 2013 debut, will allow Houston Auto Show attendees the chance to personally experience Jeep’s driving capabilities as they ride straight up and down an 18-ft high mountain, tackle “fallen logs” and more.
Camp Jeep is a 5 minute long, interactive adventure zone where professional 4x4 drivers allow riders to experience the full capabilities of a Jeep, while teaching them how to drive safely on off-road terrain.
The Camp Jeep Experience is one of the most unique and thrilling ride-along vehicle test tracks ever to make an appearance in Houston.
The Camp Jeep adventure zone will be comprised of several obstacles that simulate the capability standards of Jeep vehicles, with ground clearance, traction, stability, articulation and maneuverability, allowing consumers to experience Jeep vehicles to the fullest. The Jeep test track includes logs, stumps, an angled drive-over and other Jeep Trail Rated terrains.
A “can’t miss" hill climb will give passengers a sense of the traction capabilities of a Jeep vehicle, as they climb the iconic 18-ft high, 35 degree angle Jeep Mountain.
There’s even entertainment for kids at the Jeep Kids Course which is adjacent to Camp Jeep. There, young people will be able to drive kid-sized Jeeps. While the kids are waiting for a turn, a 25-ft high Jeep Climbing Wall and a live DJ will provide even more entertainment.
The hours for Camp Jeep at the Houston Auto Show will be:
• Wednesday, Jan. 23 to Friday, Jan. 25 Noon to 9:30 p.m.
• Saturday, Jan. 26 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• Sunday, Jan. 27 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Additionally, nearby at the Chrysler Group Drive exhibit, consumers will be able to hop in and test drive vehicles available onsite from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Fiat.
Show attendees can register for test drives at designated Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram Truck and Fiat exhibits during show hours.
During the test drive, participants will be accompanied by highly trained product specialists. Those that test drive a standard vehicle will also become eligible to test drive an SRT model.
All will be entered into the Chrysler Group National Giveaway for a chance to win $45,000 towards any eligible Chrysler Group vehicle.

The Chrysler Group Drive Hours of Operation will be: Friday, Jan. 25 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday Jan. 26 and Sunday, Jan. 27 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Drivers must have a valid driver's license, be 21 years old and pass a breathalyzer test to drive. Passengers must be 8 years of age and up to ride along.
The 2013 Houston Auto Show, running Wednesday, Jan. 23 to Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at the Reliant Center, is celebrating its 30th year with the largest display of vehicles in its three decade history. Occupying the entire Reliant Center with over 700,000 square feet of display space, this year’s show features the latest vehicles from the world’s best automakers in a wide variety of styles and price ranges.

The high-end luxury vehicle boutique will also return for its second year featuring Lotus, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Porsche.

The Houston Auto Show at the Reliant Center is open daily from Wednesday, Jan. 23 through Sunday, Jan. 27. Show hours are: Wed. – Friday: Noon to 9:30 p.m., Saturday: 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
