Household tip: Cleaning dusty curtains and greasy stoves

Life in our north Texas area is so busy; life is hectic all over and there’s no way around it.  Living in the big city of Dallas, living in one of the surrounding suburbs or even way out in the country, we all love tips to make our life just a little bit more manageable. As your Dallas Household Tips ExaminerI search for tips for myself and pass them along to my readers.

Sometimes, to make cleaning a little easier, you need to plan ahead, just a little. Here are 2 easy tips that can save you a lot of time later.

Curtains get dusty? Try this easy way to clean drapes and keep them clean longer:

Take down your drapes, remove the hooks or rings. Throw them in the dryer, along with a damp towel and a dryer sheet. Set dryer for 20 minutes on the no-heat cycle. The towel will attract the dust from the curtains and the dryer sheet will help make them more dust repellent.

Tired of the grease spatters on your stove? Try this for an easy clean up: Lay a cookie sheet upside down on the burners that are not being used. When you are cooking something that is greasy, or even a sauce that bubbles and spatters, most of the spatters can be caught on the cookie sheet. The cookie sheet is much easier to clean than trying to clean the burners and grates where the grease tends to collect.
