"Romantic" isn't the first word that comes to mind when thinking of acclaimed political thriller "House of Cards," but Netflix will give fans a special valentine next month when the series' entire 13-episode second season becomes available for streaming Feb. 14. The official trailer, released today, showcases the next round of debauchery and intrigue in store for the Washington, D.C. drama and its colorful cast of characters.

Oscar winner Kevin Spacey returns as charismatic and corrupt former congressman Frank Underwood, whose conniving rise to the vice presidency has raised eyebrows across the beltway. Scrappy reporter Zoe Barnes (Kate Mara) and her gang of newshounds begin to close in on Underwood’s criminal strategies, while notorious ice queen Claire (Robin Wright) adjusts to a brighter and more discerning spotlight as the nation’s second lady. The ruthless power couple appears to have achieved everything they sought after in the drama’s groundbreaking debut, but as the sneak peek into next season teases, life at the top means there’s only that much farther to fall.

Will the Underwoods finally collapse under pressure? Is democracy overrated? Check out the ‘House of Cards’ second season trailer and let the potboiling begin. This Valentine’s Day, scandal is in the air.
