House History Day is a free workshop on February 18 presented by the Humanities Council of Washington DC. For many families, having a strong sense of home can help you feel closer and better equipped to manage personal conflicts in your home and in your community,
This workshop will guide expert or amateur community historians through the DC Public Library Washingtoniana Division's collection. You’ll learn how to research the history of your home or any historical property. Topics include DC maps, the Historic Building Permit Database, photo archives, microfilm records and the DC Digital Museum.
This event is scheduled for February 18 (Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. These workshops are so popular they fill up every year but you can call to get on the waiting list or plan ahead next year. The Humanities Council of Washington DC is located at 925 U Street NW. They work to preserve the District's cultural legacy while transforming the nation's capital into a community.
