It is quite interesting how more issues have come about with this website over the past few weeks as time moves on. The contractors who built this Affordable Healthcare Act website were interviewed on The Hill and during the interview it was quite clear many of the questions led directly back to the HHS they did exactly what was asked of them nothing more, nothing less. The technology used for this Affordable Healthcare Act website was built using 10-yr old technology and it raises the question why was there old technology used and not new. There was a lack of testing completed two-weeks before this website went live whereas the website should have gone through testing a month prior to going live. Why was this particular website not prepared and ready to go live on October 1? What happen to make the website coding within damaged?
Here are issues being faced at this time:
1) The President constantly states individuals can keep can keep an individual insurance plan or a private insurance market plan yet a change was made within the insurance bill and consumers are being dropped from their private insurance plans forcing them to join the Affordable Healthcare Act and pay a higher premium rate.
2) American citizens who need insurance must first make an account on this AHA healthcare website that is either is constantly going down due to technical issues or cannot stay up due to old code being used.
3) Americans who are able to obtain healthcare insurance with this AHA healthcare exchange through the Affordable Healthcare Act website are discovering their healthcare premiums are double and sometimes triple. Premiums should not increase to those high amounts nor should Americans be taxed a fee (i.e. fine) if they do not obtain insurance.
As of now, the latest statistics show approximately one million Americans have received documentation stating they no longer have private insurance or individual insurance plans through their private insurance market and must sign up with Affordable Healthcare Act. This unethical debacle never should have taken place against the American people. The HHS should be held accountable for unethical actions and fired for not doing her job.
