If you don’t have room to add another dog to your household for the holidays, donating to a shelter or rescue organization can be the next best thing. Check out the wishlists from these organizations:
Montgomery County Humane Society Donations are also needed for their December 22 Holiday for the Shelter Dogs event, where dogs receive extra walks and cage cleanings, and volunteers pass out new treats, toys and blankets.
Washington Humane Society WHS also has an Amazon wishlist, so you don’t even have to leave home to send a gift.
Washington Animal Rescue League’s Presents for Paws drive lets you make donations at a number of local merchants, or items can be dropped off at WARL’s shelter.
To spread some canine cheer to friends and family, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and the Washington Humane Society are offering pet photos with Santa, with proceeds benefiting their organizations:
December 11, 2:00-4:00 p.m., Hotel Monaco, 700 F Street NW, Washington, DC 20004, $20. (WHS event)
December 15, 5:30-8:00 p.m., Dogma Bakery, 2772 S. Arlington Mill Dr., Arlington, VA 22206, $20. Jeanne Taylor will provide e-photos and offer each selected photo in a high-resolution 4x6 format for unlimited personal printing. (Lucky Dog event)
