As the NFL teams prepare for the 2014 season, each team plays four (five for a couple teams who played in the Hall of Fame game) preseason games. Each team uses the preseason games to decide which players to keep on their rosters for the 2014 season.

Unlike the NFL team rosters, the rosters for the the NFL cheerleaders are already set. So the NFL cheerleaders just use the preseason to work on their routines that they will use during regular season NFL games.

How much money do NFL cheerleaders make?

NFL cheerleaders are paid for their work including preseason games. They are just not paid a lot of money.

The average NFL cheerleader makes anywhere from $70 to $150 per game. That is not a lot of money considering all the work the cheerleaders do getting ready for games in practice and preparation.

Some NFL cheerleaders do get extra money for doing public appearances and posing for the team's yearly swimsuit calendar. It's also possible that being an NFL cheerleader can open doors for the women who do it.

NFL cheerleaders who have gone on to bigger and better things include Stacey Keibler, Teri Hatcher, Charisma Carpenter, Phyllis Smith, Lisa Guerrero, and Melissa Rycroft.

Hope you enjoy the photos in the slideshow as we all get ready for the 2014 NFL season.
