The Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA have cheerleaders called the Cavalier Girls. These are the hottest of the Cleveland Cavaliers Cavalier Girls basketball cheerleaders.
Tryouts for the Cavalier Girls are held annually in July
Auditions for the Cleveland Cavalier Girls cheerleaders are held annually in July. To be a Cavalier Girls cheerleader, women must 18 years old at the time of the audition. There is no maximum age limit, but women must be in great physical shape to perform the squad's dance routines at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland during Cavaliers home NBA basketball games.
The Cavaliers offer pre-audition workshops for prospective cheerleaders. At the workshops, women are shown what the Cavalier Girls audition judges are looking for, ranging in topics from choreography to appearance. At the end of each workshop there are question and answer sessions.
Cavalier Girls do many public appearances each year in addition to performing at all Cleveland Cavaliers home games
In addition to performing at all Cavalier home NBA games, the Cavalier Girls cheerleaders also do many public appearances each year. The public appearances include things like corporate events, trade shows, conventions, grand openings, and athletic events, as well as charity and fundraising functions in the northern Ohio area around Cleveland.
At the public appearances, Cavalier Girls meet and great crowds, sign autographs and pose for pictures, as well as sometimes performing dance routines. Some Cavalier Girls cheerleaders have even traveled overseas to perform in places like China, France, Germany, Iraq, Mexico, Spain, and Turkey.
The Cavalier Girls do a popular annual swimsuit calendar
The Cleveland Cavalier Girls cheerleaders pose annually for a popular swimsuit calendar. The photo shoot for the 2013 Cavalier Girls swimsuit calendar was done over the summer at Put-in-Bay, which is located on South Bass Island in Lake Erie.
The 2013 swimsuit calendar was revealed at a launch party held in December of 2012 at the Sushi Rock restaurant in the Cleveland suburb of Beachwood, Ohio. Prior to the launch party, Cavaliers fans voted on which cheerleader they wanted to be on the cover. Cavalier Girl Shelbie was chosen to be on this year's cover.
